When I was helping Matt to learn to drive I often wished that he didn’t know fourth gear.

Nice to catch up on your blog a bit Jonathan. I can identify with the ‘divining’ your calling - I’ll pray for you on this - and on the more prosaic call to declutter!

I’ve brought most of my worldly goods to Bradford now, including 2 or 3 boxes of books. I’ve spent most of today working on my first prayer letter down here…

Glad you liked the article, Jonathan. On Easter Saturday 2007 a group of us did a sort-of prayer walk around our area which took in the Tescos. Amongst other symbolic acts we did there I stood by the entrance and recited my Shopping Trolley prayer.

Interesting to see where the line between improving a song and creating a new song is. Given the amount of editing that goes on when new song books are compiled, I doubt this would normally count as a new song. And, in the song books, it's normally obvious what was changed, nor who made the change.

That said, I'm very happy to have a competition for a better second verse. I was trying to find the minimum change to make it something I could sing more comfortably.
