Found your blog when googling transition cleeve. My husband David and I are part of the group so it was really interesting to read your response to one of our leaflets. We're planning an awareness raising week at the end of Feburary to encourage the community to engage with some of the issues relating to peak oil and climate change and most of all to think about what it means to be a strong, resilient community. Its been a lot of fun getting into these issues for us...

I've only just come across this. :-) Actually, I'm not a giant - I just extended my tripod to it's maximum height. Note how I got the angle so the flags were hiding most of the bright lights. I also had the shorter shutter speed in order to partially freeze people. Later that evening I shot some with 30 second exposures - and it looks like there's no-one walking across the walkway.

There's plenty more over at: http://www.gallery.photoglow.co.uk/greenbelt :-)

Ha! I didn't realise you were there! I was too, with 4 Wheatley friends and a Cardiff one. Vicky didn't come - too noisy and crowded for her. I thought it was brilliant.

I have read Bittman's book and it is interesting. However, I found The Flexitarian Diet by Registered Dietitian Dawn Jackson Blatner to be much better. Her approach to eating a more plant based diet is a bit less extreme in terms of world apocalypse being the result of meat-eaters. She approaches this "lifestyle" in a very fun and upbeat tone. The recipes she gives (more than 100) offer "flex-swaps" that allow you to swap in or out meat depending on your tastes on a particular day. She also offers a great deal of nutrition tips that are easy to apply to your life. It is really a great book. I also found the author's website to be a really great resource as well! I got sucked in to the site for a good 2 hours the other day because of all of the great information she provides. I now visit it at least a couple of times a week to check out articles she has written, recipes she makes available for free and all of her videos! Check it out - http://www.dawnjacksonblatner.com

Simon's on the right lines.

When I was helping Matt to learn to drive I often wished that he didn't know fourth gear.

See you this weekend - shall we go running again?
